While commuter rail may be a good option for some, I can not see supporting it with tax dollars. If the need is great enough, private industry can fill that need. When you take money from the general public to support something that most do not use, it is not right!
I do not use public transportation if there is anyway at all to avoid it. I do not even like to fly anymore. I would rather drive and have full control of my surroundings, then be stuck next to someone I would rather not have to deal with.
