1998 Ford Windstar- intake manafold??
10 days ago my check engine light came on so I took the van to a mechanic who ran diagnostic tests and said it was a problem with the manifold intake. Most likely a hose or cracked seal. I went out of town for 9 days. When starting the van upon returning, I heard a loud boom and the engine went completely dead. Called a tow truck this am and van started right up.(still cost me $ 40) Drove 4 blocks to mechanic and van was smoking (white) out of exaust and there was small amt of water (on engine???) They are referring me to a different mechanic that does engine work. They stated may be manifold intake, Upper/Lower , gaskets, headers….its all greek to me. Can anyone tell me anything??? I was so upset, I don’t think I heard half of what they said. I am new to city and don’t know who to trust! Thanks for any help you can provide.
