Please help me before i crash my car?
I have a 1999 Bmw 323i. Its a very good car in very good condition with 100,000 miles. My cars traction Control and ABS lights come on, they are yellow. I feel like my car is skidding when i accelerate and especially when i make sharp turns. I just recently chnaged my Shocks and The front control arm Bush, ever since then it has been driving a little better. But the Traction and ABS lights are still on.
My tires are in poor shape and i will get new tires ASAP. Do u think the traction and ABS is on because of the poor tires or do u think it can still be something else. If the car is not better after i change the tires i will definetly go to the bmw dealer. I just recently got into a accident because of the poor steering control in the car.

You pretty much answered your own question. Your tires are the only thing between the vehicle and the road. If they are in poor condition then you will experience poor braking, accelerating, and handling. If the abs light only comes on when your braking and you feel the tires slipping that is because of your tires. If you are skidding when accelerating from a stop or when turning and the traction control light comes on it is also because of your tires. If both lights stay on all the time then there is an electrical problem which should be diagnosed by BMW. The lights should only come on when either system is engaging or if there is a problem.

I dont think it is 100 % related to the tires , because once going at speed the traction control light would turn off , it would only do it when first accelerating and maybe when shifting , unless they are god awful bald , but even then I doubt it . Your ASC and ABS are directly linked so usually if one is on they are both on . So I think your traction control throttle body is defective and also causing abs light to activate , it could be a number of sensors too though .
If both lights are on and STAY on after you start the car before you actually drive it, then you have a sensor/computer problem. If the lights come on continuously only after you start driving, it could be the tires causing it.
The system compares tire revolutions to determine if there is a traction problem. If one tire is very worn compared to the others OR they are the wrong size tires for the car, the computer will think a tire is spinning.
You should replace the tires first to eliminate this possible tire problem. Even if it is an electrical problem, the dealer will not be able to diagnose it easily with bad tires causing false alerts.
Please get your tyres changed soonest,

I have a dumb answer for you…it sounds silly…but it’s worth a shot….
Perhaps you accidentally turned off the traction control? I occasional turn mine off for some drifting fun.
