Do you think that I need to replace the glowplugs in my 743 bobcat?
I used to have to warm up the glowplugs for 15 seconds before starting up. Now I have to warm em up for 30 seconds. Btw, I live in florida so it doesn’t get cold enough to affect engine starting. And once the engine is warm and running it runs great! So far this is the ONLY problem that my 1986 bobcat has given me so far.
Oh yeah, even when I warm em up for 30 seconds it still doesn’t want to start and takes several tries.

Sounds like the glow plugs are definitely due for replacement. If it starts OK after it has been running and shut off that’s a sure sign the glow plugs are weak.

But even 40 degrees in late fall, it was getting bad.
I replaced the glow plugs, and it helped.
But what really helped was complete fuel filter change and flush of fuel circuit.
I must add, that I added a electric fuel pump, so that I can at will crack the line
going to the injection pump, and bleed/flush the fuel lines out, which also fills the fuel filter.
It works great, just turn on the key, and the fuel pressure is up and ready for action.
You do have the squeeze bulb to sorta do the same thing.
I’d modify the fuel filter like mine to have a glass bowl with built in drain to
remove water at will like once a week.
Darn diesel fuel can be an issue regardless the part of country.
You might want to try a fuel cleaner to help the injectors.
I have bench checked them with special pump,
