if the tag says synthetic then i’d probably stick with the right oil for your car, if it was an older car then you could use the regular mineral oil but I think if it recommends synthetic I would use it. The only other thing to watch out for is if your rear end is a limited slip diff or just a normal diff as there is different oil for each application.
NO I learned the hard way. The reason it has to has syn oil is because it has “clutch packs” in there for the limited slip/posi-traction and will burn/lock them clutches together without the syn oil in there. You might even have to put in a special additive in it on top of the syn oil, its only 3 bucks or so at autozone so dont skip it
use synthetic ONLY especially if this is a Ford!!! also use positrac limited slip additive.
