I have a 99 Corolla that I am rebuilding the engine on. It was using excessive oil and it is a common problem because toyota overcut the cylinders and used oversized rings to compensate and over time the rings wore out and cause oil consumption. But anyway the block is at the machine shop and I am considering having the cylinders bored .10 over and put new pistons and rings in it to overcome that problem. My question is, will my gas mileage go down or stay about the same?
I kind of figured with the heavy oil consumption (1 quart per 150-200 miles) and 139,000 miles on the vehicle a rebuild would probably increase gas mileage. I am just unsure about what boring it .10 over would do.

Some will say better due to more power but others will say less due to more fuel required to fill bigger cylinder. Its a wash
