Go and have a look at these sites, I have used both on my VFR800 and CBR1100. The Gearsack I have is the 52ltr and can carry a 30 can pack of beer.

But I find the Ventura bags to be the best.

the first thing to do is eliminate a vacuum leak problem. get someone to keep the car running and then spray some carb cleaner around the base of the carb. if there is a leak it will be obvious. make sure all lines are plugged or not leaking even if you have to isolate the carb to be sure. if the carb was used it could also be a stopped up idle circuit. eliminate all the simple stuff before snatching out the distributor. that may well be the problem, but on older vehicles a idle stall is usually, "but not always,' associated with a vacuum leak or bad carb.

Is the edelbrock carb new or used? You may have a defective carb if used and needs to be rebuilt. If you reinstall the q-jet, does the problem go away????

good luck......

1st off, you need to tell us what distributor you have, It sounds like the car has been changed from stock so you may or maynot have the right dizzy. now.

What you need is a large cap HEI style dizzy.

It has the coil mounted in top of dizzy cap.

Pass side of dizzy has a cone shaped can sticking off the side with a nipple on it for a vac line.

If thats what you have, then your good to go and it just sounds like you didnt get timing set back right, idle air mixture screws adjusted right on carb and idle speed screw set right on carb.

Set timing to 12* before TDC ( with out the vac line hooked up to dizzy)
Then place the vac line from dizzy to small driver side front vac port on carb.
Adjust mixture screws on carb by using a vac gauge and adjust to get highest vac reading
Adjust idle speed screw to give you around 800/900 rpm idle speed

get you an accel distributor to use in that car they run the best on them with that engine combination,i got a 305 in a 79 Chevy truck that's running that combination and it runs good with an accel distributor, you also need to go with high voltage coil on it,like a super coil, you don't need the computer on it no more, also check around the base of the new carb for a vacuum leak, good luck

Yes. You need a pre-computer distributor with a vacuum advance on it. The quadrajet had a TPS sensor on it. The Edelbrock doesn't.
I would think it would idle though. Sounds like you have a vacuum leak or it's not adjusted right.

sounds like one or both of your half shaft axle popped out of the tranny. Get a flashlight or wait till daylight and you should see your axle sliding out of the tranny. You can see this by looking to either side of the engine near the back of the engine right at the transmission where the axles go into the transmission. If it just popped out you can try popping it back in using a prybar or soft mallet hammer or both. If you don't know what to do have a friend who knows or two it to a shop you trust. It could a broken cv joint as well. That cost more to replace. If you heard a clicking while you were driving or turning that means your cv joint is bad and about to break or has gone bad already. I can't say for sure what is wrong is I have limited info but those are the two most likely culprit.

In our state, grocery stores and gas stations have a free magazine called auto trader, where you can advertise vehicles at no cost to you. Take a picture, write a description and submit an ad. See what people will offer you. Surely there is a GEAR HEAD out there that would want it. Hope you get a nice price for it.

you could estimate the selling price at http://www.kbb.com
Now it won't give you estimates for any of the extra features someone put into it like the chrome you mentioned, but it will give you an idea.Any of the features you mentioned that do not work,I would not check those boxes since whoever buys it needs to fix them themselves. The user who said 3000-5000 is out of their mind.

I would suggest pricing it on kbb.com and just throw all the goodies on it. But my personal guess would be 3-5 thousand maybe less since its dinged up and gas mileage is everything as of right now. 3-5 thousand would keep it in your price range which would be someone who needs a truck for towing or hauling, or a teenager who just thinks they are badass.

Here's a nice one for $ 3000.
Does it compare?

race compound tires thrashed on a track might last as little as 50 miles.
Dual compound sport touring tires might run upwards of 8-9000 miles on the rear - more on the front when run on the street.

And anywhere in between.

On a 250cc bike, you could easily get 10,000 out of the rear and more out of the front. It's a light bike, doesn't go all that fast and can use a harder compound tire.

All tires are different. The bikes size makes no difference. Look up your tires make online (as if you were shopping for them) and you should be able to see the mileage rating in the specs sheet for the tire.

It's a some what ambiguous question! I ride a gs big heavy goes like 'stink'. 0 to 60 3.9 seconds does 115mph (not here in the EU) For summer riding here I use soft middle hard walls tyres For touring I use a 'standard' compound tyre. For winter i use knobblies.
The soft wall ones typically do 3000 miles. Touring tyres 15 to 20 K miles. knobilies go on for winter and then off and back on again for the next winter and average about 30 k miles.
it's down to how you ride and on what kind of tyres you use.So the only way to find out is to pick a tyre that suits you and what your doing and see how they go.

Your alternator is not working. The battery has enough power to start the truck, but not enough when the lights are turned on. Start the truck and take a long screw driver, hold it about 1 inch over the center of the alternator, If the alternator is working, the screwdriver will be pulled to it like a magnet. A new alternator runs around $ 180.00

Try changing the battery cables. If they are cracked from inside they will work sometimes, other times they wont.

Sounds like there's a short in your wiring some place. It might be the alternator but highly unlikely. Unlikely that it's a dead cell in the battery too.

If not a short, turning the lights on could be overloading a circuit. The 10-15 minute wait is the time it takes for it to reset. Have a mechanic track down the problem.

The M-1 Abrahms, with its turbine engine, can take just about any fuel, from diesel to gasoline. Makes no difference to the turbine.

However, strictly speaking, you can't "convert" a diesel engine to run on gasoline, without switching the pistons and the heads completely so that you have spark plugs again to ignite the gasoline, and decrease the compression.

There is a difference between a multi-fuel engine vs. a diesel engine that can be converted to gasoline. A company called Orbital has a "FlexDI" system that has a special injector and ignition system that claims to allow an engine to run on almost ANY liquid or gaseous fuel. However, while they did say their engine can run on diesel, they are using diesel fuel in spark-ignition mode, not the tradition compression-ignition mode that diesel engine is known for.

So to answer your original question... You can't convert a disel engine to a gasoline engine without reinventing the whole engine. A "multi-fuel" engine must be designed as a multi-fuel engine to start with. There's no conversion kit that'll turn a diesel engine into a multi-fuel engine.
